Architectural Environment Studies (University Project)

This project was developed as part of my Games Art and Design coursework for 3D Modelling through the use of following in-class tutorials for the old building and the modern skyscraper. The wooden structure is my original asset without the use of tutorial instructions.

Greetings!
I am excited to share my work, as a junior games art and design student/artist, that I have been creating at university in my journey into Games Art and Design. What you see here is images of one of my assignments to create an environmental setting, which I enjoyed. This is the first time I am creating this type of medium within Game Design, and I will say that I have picked up quickly working with Maya to create objects and now an environment. This is also encouraging me to start creating small projects for other objects as I later want to start creating original characters with softwares including Maya and Blender.

I will say that there are some inconsistencies, but I believe I still have a lot to learn and there's still place for improvement, of which I am open to any constructive feedback where I can improve or any tips and tricks, as this has been something I have just developed a deep fascination and motivation for.

Here is some more information about my setting:
My setting includes three buildings (in order):
- A wooden structure/shack: Low-profile, more of an add on compared to the other two and includes three flowerpots, pillars, and windows. Textures are downloaded from PolyHaven and ambientCG.
- A modern skyscraper: Contemporary glass skyscraper with a curved facade (from using the lattice tool in Maya), I created the glass texture to be reflective with a purple, yellow, and white scheme. I created these simple textures myself.
- An old building: Classic, multi-story building with window framing, a simple entrance, and textures that I downloaded off of PolyHaven and ambientCG.

All of my objects were UV unwrapped, which I still struggle with but with some practice, I am slowly getting better at it. This project helped me to better my understanding of more complex shapes and the use of the lattice tool and curving objects. Through the use of also file organisation for this project, it has also bettered my file organisation and naming systems.

THIS IS STRICTLY A STUDENT PROJECT AND CONTRIBUTES TO MY PORTFOLIO.
All work was created by myself and there was NO USE of AI in my project. Textures for the old building and the wooden structure were downloaded from PolyHaven and ambientCG. The 3D assets are my original work and shared for portfolio purposes only. Please do not use, copy, or redistribute these assets without my explicit permission.
